Irasshaimase! Dusit Thani Manila’s famed UMU Japanese Restaurant opens its doors once again to thrill the guests with the taste of authentic Japanese cuisine in the heart of Manila. Living up to its name’s meaning—“born of nature”— UMU is back to serve a vast array of finest Japanese fare starting on May 26.

With Chef Hiroyuki Fukata at the helm, the food stations will once again be teeming with culinary creations, retaining some of its well-loved dishes such as sashimi, temaki, makimono, tempura, yakimono, wagyu beef, sukiyaki, along with new selections.

The exciting menu promises to transport you to Japan in an instant, featuring live lobsters served in any way you like such as grilled with Hokkaido Uni, teppan or tempura and Kobe beef cooked in teppan, sukiyaki or tataki style. Meanwhile, guests can also enjoy the freshest pieces of premium fish like chu toro and kampachi that are flown in straight from Japan, offered only during weekends.

Enjoy a memorable meal while sitting amidst UMU’s inviting and serene setting reminiscent of a homey yet modern Japanese house. It offers guests a complete and satisfying Japanese dining experience with enhanced dining areas including the robata, teppanyaki stations, tatami rooms and private rooms. An alfresco dining area with a scenery of koi pond and Japanese garden is also available for diners who want a serene lunch or dinner in the midst of the hotel’s greeneries.

Located at the lobby level of Dusit Thani Manila, UMU is open for lunch at 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and dinner at 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The restaurant is closed every Wednesdays.
