Making its debut for the very first time at Dusit Thani Manila, the Gastronomic Week of Chile features the best of Chilean cuisine and offers guests the chance to experience the most popular and delicious traditional dishes at the hotel’s buffet restaurant, The Pantry.

Starring at the grand food fest are carefully curated dishes by Chilean chef Matias Mardones who brings pride and honor from his home country by giving a taste of their national specialties from the north, center and the south of Chile.

Find your way to the appetizers that are showcased in the buffet, including Ceviche Salmon, a delectable dish made from fresh salmon and grilled corn marinated in classic “tiger’s milk” dressing; Empandas de pino, a classic favorite made from pasties stuffed with ground beef, onions, and olives; and Chupe de mariscos, a mouthwatering seafood stew with parmesan cheese and cream sauce.

Get ready to give in and satisfy your passion for great food with these main courses. For the showstopper, feast on Lomo a la pobre made from beef ribeye, with French fries, caramelized onion, and sunny side up eggs; savor the traditional Chilean seafood soup Paila Marina made from clams, mussels, and prawns; and treat your taste buds to Pastel de choclo made from ground beef and corn shepherd´s pie.

Complete your meal with equally delicious sides like Ensalada a la  chileno, made from tomatoes, red onion, green chili and coriander salad; Papas al merken made from roasted potatoes with fresh herbs and typical chilean spicy condiment “Merken”; and Humita made from spiced creamy corn.

A pleasant dinner is never complete without desserts. Indulge your sweet tooth in Chilean’s decadent take on desserts such as Panqueques con manjar, made from crepes with caramel filling; Arroz con leche, a rice pudding; and Brazo de reina, a cake roll with caramel filling.
