Geared with culinary prowess and passion for perfection, Dusit Thani Manila culinary team has proven once again that they have what it takes to cook with the best as they bagged the gold medal for Filipino Cuisine Challenge in the recently held Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC) 2018 at the SMX Convention Center.

Battling with participants from other well-known and established hotels and culinary institutions in the country, Dusit chefs emerged triumphants with the preparation of traditional Filipino food made out of superior ingredients. They were able to create a delectable set of Tupig, Sinangag, Talong and Kare-Kare that has captured the hearts of PCC’s roster of judges.

PCC is the country’s most prestigious culinary competition that is held concurrently with WOFEX and is the only food competition endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS). Dusit team of culinary experts were able to beat their own records last year for winning one gold and four silver awards this time.

“It has always been our mission to empower our people to exceed expectations, and every dish that passes through our kitchens should reflect that. These awards came as no surprise because the hotel has been devoted in providing full support to maximize the potentials of our people and leverage to global standards. Joining this competition every year is a good opportunity for our culinary team to showcase their expertise outside of the hotel where the country’s best of the best meet to compete,” General Manager Stanley Lo said.

Winning chefs who bagged the gold medal were Chef Paul Samonte, Chef Kyle Alvarez and Chef Albert Noronio. Successfully bringing home the silver medals on their respective categories were Xerxes John Narciso, Chef Billy Joel Palma, Chef Ferdinand De Leon and Chef Kristopher Subramaniam for Dream Team Challenge, Chef Angelo Serrano for Fanstasy Plated Dessert, Chef Xerxes John Narciso under Local Fish or Seafood category and Chef Joey Reynald Salita for creating the majestic “Kong”, The King of the Lost Island under the Bread Showpiece category.

“They all have great individual talents that shine through with every culinary delight we offer. It’s an honor to be at the helm of such a passionate team who wins the hearts and taste of our guests every time they stay in the hotel,” Lo added.
