Dusit Thani Manila officially embraced a joyous and cuddly holiday season as the Malee Christmas tree came alight at the hotel lobby for a charitable cause.
More than the merry-making and festivities, Dusit’s annual pledge of giving back this year is focused on giving support to ABS CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. (ALKFI) Bantay Bata 163 Program. Dubbed, “A Cuddly Christmas at Dusit,” the celebration is starred by Malee, the hotel’s elephant mascot, which becomes the symbol of hope and cheer for the children in need.
The Tree Lighting ceremony was officiated by Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Dusit Thani Manila’s vice chairman and president Mrs. Evelyn Singson, Thailand ambassador His Excellency Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, general nanager Mr. Stanley Lo, resident manager Michael Kempf and ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Ms. Susan Afan. The annual tradition brought an extra yuletide glow with live performance by Jessica Sanchez.
Anyone who wants to join in spreading love and warm Christmas hugs may purchase a pair of Malee stuffed toy for PHP 1,000 at the lobby’s Christmas counter. One goes to the buyer of the Malee and other one will be added into the hotel’s 25-foot-tall Christmas tree centerpiece. At end of the campaign, all collected Malee stuffed toys and proceeds of this initiative will be donated to the children Bantay Bata.
